Nite People is Buscemi’s 6th solo-album, without any doubt a very diverse album and probably Buscemi’s most pop-related album.

Joined by Portugese co-producer Henrique Marques, Dirk composed 12 tracks dedicated to nite life.

In the past 15 years Buscemi became a real nighthawk as most of his work as producer, musician and dj happened at night. So it might not come as a surprise that night life is the main inspiration for this album.

Niteculture, nitepeople, nitefashion… Hedonism, escapism, collapsing in an elegant way…

The album features contributions by Luc Van Acker, Anna Domino, Jo Lemaire, Mr P (singer from Sabena),
Kyoko Baertsoen (ex-Hooverphonic and ex-Lunascape), Assunta Mandaglio (Balaxy Orchestra), model Lynn Verlayne
and sax player Bobbi Suzuki from Japan.

The two iTunes bonus tracks are the Miles Davis cover ‘Raise to the Scaffold’ which Buscemi especially recorded for the London based
Afro-Art recordlabel of Paul Murphy. The second track ‘Collapsing in An Elegant Way’, a 4 year old Buscemi-track that received a beautiful
update by the Atlanta/Florida based collective Mama’s Moonshine. Lyrics by : Erik Harris and Anjenai Green (Mama’s Moonshine)

Happy 2012 from Buscemi and the Squadra Bossa-gang. We wish you a lot of health, fun and… good music. Buscemi and Cortez played a fine party at the Hilton Milennium Hotel in Bangkok on NY. On the other side of the globe, Mista Livingstoon played at the same nite a tropical bossa show in club Franz in Aachen. Worldwide, that is… Speak soon.

Buscemi made a remix of the track ‘Sunday’ by Anoo. Anoo is the Belgian group of the Finnish leading lady Anu Junnonen who combines the Finnish musical traditions with electronic popjazz-songs. the album is titled ‘Sinipiika’. Out now on Prova records, all info here.

Buscemi is represented on the ‘Afro Art House Volume 1′-album with a cover of Miles Davis, ‘l’ascenseur pour l’echafaud’ or in English ‘raise to the scaffold’. Afro Art is the London based cultlabel of Simone Beedle and Paul Murphy. Other names on the album are Diesler, Ballistic Brothers and Danny J Lewis. Check it out on Juno Records.

Fleetwood Coup Daville and Betty Boo Banksta, The American producers of Mama’s Moonshine from Atlanta, Georgia, made a remix of “Collapsing in an Elegant Way”. Mama’s Moonshine teams up with Buscemi.
